2017 F386FK Features and Options
This Palomino Columbus fifth wheel model 386FK features FIVE slides for added interior space, a front kitchen, dual entry doors, plus more!

Step inside the front most door and find yourself in a comfortable living space with dual opposing slides.  Each slide features a 61" visionary sofa that can easily be made into added sleeping space if needed at night.  There is also a theatre seat for two, and overhead cabinetry above all three seating pieces so you can keep things neatly tucked away when not in use.  Along the interior wall opposite the theatre seats enjoy an entertainment center that is viewable from any spot in the room.

Head up the steps to the right of that same door and enter a spacious front kitchen.  Here you can easily cook for your family and enjoy dining at the bistro high top dinette with two chairs.  There is a slide out counter area with a double sink along the curb side, plus overhead cabinets and a microwave oven.  Opposite you will find pantry storage on either side of the refrigerator, and across the front a three burner range and corner appliances garage.  There is a third pantry at the top of the steps up to the kitchen, along with a storage closet and more.

Back down on the main level head through the living area to the rear bedroom.  The first door on your right is a complete bath that includes a 60" x 30" walk-in shower with dome for more head room and natural lighting.  There is also a vanity with sink, a toilet, and medicine cabinet.  Just outside the bath door is a small closet, and opposite easy access to the outside which makes this bathroom location quite handy.

At the very rear of this Columbus fifth wheel you will find a spacious master that includes a slide out queen size bed or optional king, a full wall wardrobe that slides out opposite, and more storage in a closet along the rear wall including drawer space and a shelf.  There is also linen storage, and a space prepped for a washer and dryer if you choose to add the units, plus so much more!
What Our Customers Are Saying

Knowledge Of RV's

Thank you for all the help you gave us in selecting the "perfect" trailer. We both appreciated your low key approach, in other words you were not pushy. Larry was impressed with your knowledge of RV's especially because you're a "girl"! We are looking forward to many years of fun in our home away from home. Thanks again. - Larry

Palomino Camping Trailer construction began in 1968 with the dream of Mr. Vern Landey. Mr. Landey had been a tent trailer distributor for several years when he felt he could design and produce better quality units than were currently being offered to the public. He would design units which were lightweight and offered convenient floorplans at affordable prices. He began designing and producing Palomino pop-up tent trailers in a small building in Savage, Minnesota.

As demand for the Palomino grew, Mr. Landey felt it would benefit his company, Vanguard Ind., to relocate. With most manufacturers and industry suppliers located in the Elkhart, In. area the move eastward seemed logical. Vanguard Industries settled in the community of Colon in 1972. Once in Colon he began to put his plans in motion. By 1973 he had built the main production facility and within days Palomino tent trailers were rolling out the doors.

In 1976, Vanguard added its own Needle Division, in 1978 its own Metal Fabrication Plant, and has several cold storage facilities. On May 27, 1992, the primary production building and offices were destroyed by fire. By late August, 1992, the first 1993 model Palomino rolled of the line in the new 52,300 sq. ft. facility, which was built on the same site as the previous building had been.

The year 1998 continued to see expansion with the addition of a new 75,000 sq. ft. production facility, and another storage facility.  In 2002 Vanguard was purchased by Forest River, Inc. This allowed for rapid growth and the introduction of two new towable lines of travel trailers and fifth wheels, Puma and Sabre by Palomino.

In 2005, Forest River, Inc. and it's divisions were acquired by Berkshire Hathaway.  Palomino RV operates as a separate division of Forest River Inc., and has grown from humble beginnings in Minnesota to one of the top 5 RV manufacturing facilities in North America.
